SportsPro Media, founded in 2008, providing high-level content on the commercial, political and organisational aspects of global professional sport, across a variety of media platforms. Its acclaimed magazine and website, offers expert commentary and opinion on the latest trends shaping the sports industry today.
In 2014, SportsPro successfully launched its events business, now hosting over 2,000 senior level delegates annually across the portfolio, including its flagship conference, SportsPro Live. It’s events range in size from 30 to 800 attendees, and provide a platform of knowledge sharing and networking for industry leaders. Topics include sponsorship and marketing, technology and investment, finance and governance, broadcasting and digital, and much more.
We are looking for a Marketing Executive to join our team to contribute to the company’s onward growth and development by delivering marketing and communication activities across the SportsPro portfolio. The key focus would be to utilise SportsPro’s own portfolio as a primary marketing platform, alongside selected social media channels. The marketing activity would be with the goal of driving growth in incremental revenues, relevant users to the site, and senior level delegates to its conferences and events.
Main duties and responsibilities:
Delivering on an agreed marketing strategy across the portfolio to position SportsPro as a leading insights business for the global sports industry
Working with the Marketing Manager to develop a strategy that moves customers and prospects down the marketing funnel
Goals are to increase relevant website traffic, sign-ups to our database, delegate revenues and attendees, membership and subscription revenues, and overall general engagement with industry / audience
Implement commercially focused marketing processes with the CRM and Marketing Automation platform
Creating targeted marketing and communications to attract attendees to our conferences
Generating qualified leads for the sales team
Briefing in-house web and print designers to develop sales and marketing collateral
Identify data and lead generation gaps and brief third party data researchers
Distribute SportsPro content to relevant audience and communities to maximise engagement and lead generation opportunities
Researching and setting up long term strategic media agreements
Develop content marketing and engagement around our events
Analyse current marketing campaigns and plan future strategies for improvement
Implement agile marketing practices to optimise results and ROI
Deliver a multi-platform social media strategy
Demonstrate lead generation capabilities by delivering whitepapers for clients
The successful applicant will have:
Minimum 1 year marketing experience in the b2b marketing space
Experience in delegate marketing or subscription marketing preferred
Used and mastered multiple digital marketing tools, including programmatic/ automated marketing strategies
Ability to develop deep understanding of audience, audience needs, industry make up and marketing type effectiveness
Experience using own portfolio and audience as primary marketing platform preferred
Keen understanding of data driven marketing
The ability to understand and analyse ROI
Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise workloads and meet deadlines, using a methodical and accurate approach
Strong attention to detail.
Success in delivering marketing across direct, online, and print ideal
A passion for integrated and digital results driven campaigns
Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organisation and a person who is a team player
A flair for marketing, with a proven ability in copy writing
Strong computer literacy across all Microsoft and CRM products
Degree educated or equivalent.
Excellent communications skills in person, on phone or in writing
