Port Technology is recruiting an Editorial Placement to join the team at its headquarters in London.

With a strong website and a market leading magazine published four times a year, Port Technology is the only technical preview and review of advanced technologies for ports, harbours and terminals world-wide. 

The Company

Each edition features over 30 technical papers written by leading industry professionals, which reflect emerging trends and technical advances that enhance efficiency and increase productivity in ports and terminals. The journal is divided into distinctive sections, reflecting every aspect of operation in the port or terminal.

Port Technology continues to bring to its readership cutting-edge philosophies and technologies including business intelligence, short-sea shipping, integrated transport decision-making and intermodal. Port Directors and Terminal Operators as well as Ship Owners and Operators use Port Technology International to obtain new contacts, assess and evaluate new products and plan for the future. The journal is an invaluable source of reference for their purchasing and specifying decisions.

Port Technology International has been the leading industry print Journal for 20 years.  The successful candidate will have an opportunity to be part of a dynamic newsroom in real time, create new stories and support online editorial campaigns, content, assist with various social media platforms, write and distribute press releases and newsletters for several audiences.

Key skills:

  • The ability to write and edit crisp and accurate copy to deadline
  • The ability to juggle multiple projects to multiple deadlines
  • A working knowledge of content management systems is essential and knowledge of digital mail-out platforms is preferable
  • An understanding of social media channels and their varied audiences and uses
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Enthusiasm, industry, curiosity and self-motivation.

The full-time role will be based in London, working standard Monday to Friday office hours.

Expenses will be paid but the role is offered on a voluntary basis for a negotiable period.
