Pitching for a Greener future at UNEP’s GC/GMEF

For the second time, Climate Action in partnership with UNEP are showcasing a Green Technology Tent at the 26th session of the UNEP Governing Council /Global Ministerial Environment Forum (GC/GMEF), held in Nairobi, Kenya in February. The Green Technology Tent will feature innovative technologies that can assist governments and their populations in addressing global environmental concerns. Technologies include: mitigating and adapting to climate change, using natural resources more efficiently, ensuring environmentally sound management of chemicals, reducing pollution and environmental monitoring.

For the organisations involved, this is a unique opportunity to present landmark technology and ideas to a key international audience of Environment Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, NGOs and civil society organisations gathering to consult on crucial environmental issues.

The GC/GMEF is convened annually by UNEP as the primary forum for Environment Ministers, Permanent Secretaries and other high-level officials to exchange ideas and perspectives on important and emerging issues related to the global environment, particularly in relation to climate change mitigation and adaptation. Environment Ministers and senior representatives from 140 countries will attend the meeting, held at the UN Gigiri Compound in Nairobi on the 21st-24th February 2011.
