by Adam Nethersole
2011 has been yet another successful year for Henley Media Group's National Family Week with a staggering 6,163 events taking place all across the UK including 10 flagship events and a headline spectacular in Liverpool! This year's campaign also saw the launch of a new parenting magazine, "Family Time" plus a brand new year-round website to accompany this: www.familytime.co.uk.
Thousands of families came out in force from 30th May - 5th June to join in a wealth of activities with everything from sports days and picnics to storytelling sessions and arts and crafts workshops spanning the length and breadth of the UK. Families sang, danced, exercised, played and most importantly shared valuable time together as a result of this national campaign which aims to highlight the importance of quality family time.
The number of national not-for-profit partners supporting National Family Week has increased to an impressive 190 with thousands of local groups supporting the week including charities, local authorities, sports clubs, faith and community groups. National Family Week even received a letter of endorsement from the Prime Minister, David Cameron, welcoming this year's campaign and urging everyone to get behind it.
French's were the proud sponsors of National Family Week this year and challenged families to come up with a winning recipe using their popular mustard plus gave families in Hull and Liverpool the opportunity to sample their delights accompanied by a giant bottle of French's! Further competitions for families to enter included the Great Family Giveaway and a fancy dress photo competition.
Plans are currently underway for National Family Week 2012, building on the success of the last 3 years. For more information visit www.nationalfamilyweek.co.uk or email Gemma Fordham at: gemma@nationalfamilyweek.co.uk.
